Jen's Demise & Laureli's High

On Saturday the 9th of August Fred and I took our children 4-wheeling with my parents. Okay, my parents really took us because we don't any ATVs. So we get to where we want to be unload all the 4-wheelers and get all our lunch and everything strapped on. I get Kaitlyn strapped onto me and we start out on the trail. I was riding around a bit because I haven't ridden since I was a tween. My parents were adjusting something on theirs while I was riding.) Kaitlyn didn't seem to care for the ride and was fussing so I thought well she might not like the wind in her face so I switched her from my front to the back. Then we all head out. We hadn't been riding for more than 10 mins when we came upon a rut. I thought I had judge the distance correctly and tried to turn and ride next to the rut, however that was not the case and as I turned the tires grabbed the rut that I was already in and pulled the ATV back. This action does a funny thing to an off road vehicle because it started to tip.( Well I didn't stay on it long enough to find out if it was going to roll. In the process of freeing myself the the 4-wheeler and not land on my back where my daughter was I twisted and bruised my knee. Rather unsuccessful. However, Kaitlyn came away with some scratches and that is it, so in that respect I was somewhat successful. Needless to say I couldn't really walk on Saturday or sunday or monday. But now that it is Wednesday I am somewhat getting around.

Later that same day Laureli had the highlight of her life. She got to ride a horse! It is something she has wanted to do for a while now and she was so excited. My Uncle Lance owns a few horses so my mom put in a call and he was more than happy to have her come. I thought she might be a little timid with him, but if he was going to let her ride his horse then it was best friends for her.
She even got to ride their fillie & take it for a walk. She is pretty funny, it seems like all animals are the same to her. She can walk a ferret, dog and a horse. Kind of scary for the mom when she doesn't seem to have any fear.
